What is Angular Cheilitis?

Angular cheilitis is also called perlèche, cheilosis or angular stomatitis. It is a lesion (abnormality of the body tissue) occurring around the labial commissure (corner of the lips). It frequently appears on both sides of the mouth. It presents itself as profound cracks and sometimes splits. A crust may develop if the lesions bleed. A cold sore and chapped lips are types of angular cheilitis. Chapped lips are prevalent amongst children and teens, especially during winter.

Cause of Angular Cheilitis

The etiology of angular cheilitis is not established. The most probable cause is a bad diet, leading to deficiencies of vitamins B1 and B12, riboflavin and cyanocobalamin. Iron deficiency may be just as much to blame. Fortunately a herbal treatment will address the problem in a holistic way, ensuring that all possible causes are dealt with.

Angular Cheilitis Symptoms

As the fungal infection develops, the corners of the mouth begin to dry and harden; so angular cheilitis symptoms are hard to overlook. However, some people, even some doctors, still confuse angular cheilitis symptoms with those of a flu. But the two are quite different.

Treatment

Ideally the body’s immune system needs a boost. This will help the body fight the bacteria causing the angular cheilitis wiki. Herbs and foods to increase vitamins B1 and B12 and to raise iron levels are also essential. Practical steps can also be taken, like ensuring the patient is warm enough, particularly in bed, during cold weather. The elderly should ensure they consistently wear their dentures or false teeth to prevent the upper lip covering the lower.

Herbal Methods of Angular Cheilitis Treatment

A good herbal guide is essential for a natural herbal and holistic treatment. It will include the most up to date and effective herbal treatments, which are so much better than they were even ten years ago. Still useful enough are older Western herbal cures which include bogbean, wormwood and gentian root as a base. For topological application, an ointment can be made from Venice turpentine, yellow wax, olive oil, balsam Peru and dragon’s blood.

Medical Opinion on Angular Cheilitis Treatment

Dr. Steven Reynolds of the Simon Jenkins Medical Foundation, wrote in the JMF Journal March 2009 (p.17): Angular Cheilitis can be swiftly and cheaply cleared by the use of herbal tinctures which supply the body with the correct nutrients and develop immunity. Prescription drugs have proved to be effective in many cases but their effectiveness is essentially short term.

Diet

A good diet to complement a herbal remedy should include egg yolk, dried peas, whole wheat flower, oatmeal, spinach, watercress, raisins, potatoes, cabbage, apples and milk. These all help with the deficiencies mentioned above.

Wounds Can Heal Very Fast With This Homeopathic Medicine

Some people have no trouble healing their wounds. And for others they just don’t seem to want to heal at all. Why do some people have so much trouble?

Healing wounds, like healing any malady, comes down to how healthy you are. You may think you are very healthy, but if your can’t seem to heal a wound quickly, or shake off a cold or get headaches, then your immune system is really struggling.

And that is the measure of how healthy you are. How quickly your body can cure you from anything, with minimum or no help.

Generally speaking, normal wound treatment does nothing to improve your immune system. And it may make it worse.

If you use homeopathic medicines which match your acute symptoms, then this will give your immune system the much needed support. Then you body will be able to take over and cure itself.

The best homeopathic medicine for a wound, is called Calendula. This remarkable medicine is so effective at stimulating your immunity that the pain is switched off, preventing infection and the healing is rapid.

One characteristic symptom of Calendula is that the wound feels very cold and you want to cover it up.

Mostly wounds are covered up, but you suffer when the dressing is changed.

Taking Calendula internally in potency, as required for the pain or the healing will do more for you than topical treatment. But if the wound is large, then topical treatment may help. The one I like bst because of its efficacy is called Hypercal. This is a solution of the mixture of Calendula and Hypericum herbal tinctures.

Drench the dressing with this. Then keep that dressing , until the wound no longer needs to be covered. Just moisten it with the solution, when it seems to dry out.
