Every day we here about people having side effects with modern medicine. The term side effects should be properly labeled as “Effects” because on reality it is these effects that cause us problems. However those of us who use natural medicine know that this form of medicine has been around for thousands of years and the only effect is better health. Herbal tinctures play a big part of natural medicine.

An herbal tincture is made by taking a dried or fresh medicinal herb and placing it in an extracting liquid such as alcohol to bring out the medicinal qualities of a plant. We then use this tincture in small quantities to treat certain illnesses. A herbal tincture has not been altered with other chemicals like pills have therefore it is the pure medicine from the plant only. This form of medicine is available for any illness and again has been around for thousands of years in one form or another.

A little history lesson to think about is the fact that prescription drugs have only been around for less than 100 years. What most people do not realize is the fact that a pharmacy in the early part of the 1900′s was actually filled with herbs, tinctures and so on. In or around the late 50′s pharmaceutical companies were formed that began to alter the medicine that was put here for us to use. Today we see commercials on TV promoting many of these drugs with 10 seconds mentioning the drug and the rest of the commercial explaining the possible side effects. What is wrong with this picture?

My story is interesting to say the least. At the age of 32 I had a heart attack. Yes I know it was at a very young age, my cholesterol was 46o and I chose to eat whatever I desired. McDonalds was a regular stop for me. After my heart attack the doctors put me on 5 different prescriptions to alter my blood pressure, lower my cholesterol etc.. It wasn’t long before I started feeling horrible, I gained a bunch of weight, Tried to do the diet the doctors prescribed and began having muscle spasms. Finally after 2 years I had gained so much weight and the muscle spasm’s and gotten real bad. I needed an alternative so I decided to go back to the earth and follow my Native American background and learn about the plants and natural medicine. I also quit taking the prescription drugs.

Within a year’s time I began losing weight and to my shock I had my cholesterol checked and it was a whopping 105. I still eat meat on a daily basis, chicken, beef, and pork. What I do not do is eat processed food. Instead I choose home cooked meals and most of all I take my herbs. I drink herbal tea with peppermint and hawthorn berries almost daily for my cholesterol. I also take tinctures to strengthen my heart. I feel so much better today and have a life again,

I was so convinced but what I had learned about herbs that I started my own herbal company making Natural herbal tinctures with herbs I have gathered or grown myself. I was so inspired from my own experience to share with others through my herbal tinctures that helped me that I now carry a tincture for almost any illness.
